Three Secrets You Should Know About SEO Content

Do you want to dramatically increase your web traffic, search engine rankings and customer contact? By putting these three proven SEO content secrets into practice, you can experience all of these benefits and more.

There’s a lot of mystification around the use of content for securing unsurpassed results from Search Engines and readers alike. Once you know these 3 important secrets about SEO Content, you can gain excellent results from your website whilst saving more time and money.

It’s true that with proven SEO writing techniques, you can draw higher Google rankings, great website traffic, better customer/client interest, build credibility and online presence. Clearly, SEO content is only one part of the valuable optimization process, but without it, Google’s spiders will not have something new to feedback to the rankings algorithm. Each time you add updated content to your website, the crawlers have something new to get their sticky web claws into.

SECRET 1: DUPLICATE CONTENT

Google does not punish content duplication – This point is highly contentious, but I want you to read this carefully so that you are clear about exactly what I mean. Of course if you duplicate content and keywords over and over on your site, Google will blank most of it. Also, it’s a bad idea to duplicate using weak article submission software or low level submission directories that create ‘bad neighbourhoods’ of content that Google tends to steer clear from. However, if you are cautious and careful, you can easily get around this.

Consider this. If Google were to REALLY punish all duplication, which websites would it choose to punish? We all know that Google loves Ezine-Articles, but if you put the same articles on your website and submitted it to Ezine too, how would Google know which site to punish? Duplication is not punishable per se, stuffing your content with repetitious Keyword nonsense, that’s going to get you punished! If Google were to harshly punish duplicators, wouldn’t it just be really easy to take out your competition by posting vast swathes of useless duplicate content across the Internet?

Don’t duplicate ad infinitum, it doesn’t make good sense because a potential customer looking for an answer to their problem using Google does not want to find your same answer in twenty different places. Select the places that you wish to feature your article or content and then subtly change small elements of it to keep Google happy. Change the main title, change your sub-headings and alter some key phrases in every third paragraph.
This will keep Google sweet, without too much additional work from you.

SECRET 2: STAYING TOPICAL

Fresh Content Alone Cannot Help You – We’ve established that you can duplicate if you wish, but the real secret to updated content is to add more topically relevant quality content as often as possible. Think of YouTube. Their visitors are commenting and posting constantly, and that keeps You Tube consistently present in page rankings.

Regular topical content does two things. First it attracts Google’s crawlers and secondly it keeps your customers constantly up to date with your products and services. It also helps to build trust because customers come to think of you as an expert in the field. The more regular up to date content that you post on your site and article submission sites, the more chance you have that someone looking for a solution to a problem will come across your expertise online.

Of course, fresh content does not guarantee anything and it’s important to recognise this. Working with an SEO expert is vital to ensure that your content remains squarely in Google sights/sites. You can guarantee a certain temporary burst in web traffic if you write occasionally about highly topical subjects. Don’t just add content for the sake of it, enter highly topical, skilfully written and well-informed content and you will see the content bring home the bacon. Get your fresh newsworthy content connected to some of Google’s favourite sites and watch your rankings rise.

SECRET 3: BECOME THE CUSTOMER

Customers don’t use the same terminology that you do – Your potential customers do not often use Google to buy something per se. Most people go to Google to solve a problem. If the problem is a leaky roof, what to buy your father for his birthday, or how to get directions to the nearest garage with cheap petrol, the user is looking for solutions, not products or services.

If you’re using Google to look for a solution to a problem, you use a certain pattern of language. The words that your customers use to find that solution tend to be different from the ones that you use to sell the benefits your products and services.

When you choose how to emphasise the SEO value of your articles, blogs or content, you need to learn to think like a customer. Use Google’s Keyword Tool to select the best Keywords for optimizing your website, product or service. Strategically employ these words throughout your content, but take care not to litter them so that you end up pleasing Google’s Bots at the expense of annoying your human visitors.

Don’t just rely on Keywords, they are very helpful, but not the be all and end all of grabbing potential customers. Instead, think about how your product or service benefits a potential customer who has a problem. Think about what solution you provide and use those solution-based keywords in your content.
